Blackie is around seven years old and he weighs 78lbs. Several weeks ago, his owner brought him to the shelter and asked them to euthanize him because he had heart worms. (read more) He was essentially paralyzed by the fear and anxiety from the hardship he endured by losing his home. He would not eat for ten days and he lost almost 20lbs. He literally had to be dragged by his leash to go outside.
Blackie found a foster home and he flourished. He went from hiding under the bed to loving to snuggle on the couch with his foster mom and sleeping in her bed and going for walks. Blackie is completely house broken, he walks nice on leash, he has perfect house manners, he loves to snuggle, he takes treats with a gentle mouth.
