2J 2K Ranch raises quality dual-registered Maremma Sheepdogs on 20 rolling acres in the ruggedly beautiful Missouri Ozarks.... (read more) You will find our Maremmas contentedly guarding chickens, sheep, cattle, horses, and guinea fowl. We love the Maremma because they are loyal livestock guardian dogs who make their presence known to predators while possessing a friendly temperament with people, livestock, other dogs, and cats.
We raise our puppies to guard livestock and fit in well with families. We start ENS and ESI training on day three for early neurological development and early scent introduction. We use Puppy Culture, BAB, and Avidog for socialization and temperament testing. All the puppies we've placed happily guard livestock and are great, friendly farm dogs.
Striving to preserve the breed, we take pedigree genetics and hip testing seriously by selecting for health, working ability, temperament, and conformation. The Maremmas residing on our farm have excellent bloodlines, are DNA tested with Paw Print Genetics, and do not carry the gene for Degenerative Myelopathy. Their hips were X-rayed, evaluated, and scored with PennHIP and OFA. OFA CHIC certified and beyond OFA CHIC certified with hips, elbows, patellas, eyes, and heart. 2J 2K Maremma puppies have a pedigree with a low inbreeding coefficient, a key aspect in preserving the Maremma Sheepdog's future vitality.
We will help arrange the delivery of your new Maremma puppy. My husband Jason is our flight nanny, or we will personally drive your puppy to you.
